Dale B. Nielson

Dale Nielson, age 75 of Brule, formerly of Arthur, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala.
Dale was born June 9, 1938 in Big Springs, NE to Boyd and Betty (Monhart) Nielson. Dale was raised in Arthur County, and graduated from Arthur High School in 1957.
Dale worked as a ranch hand on the Triangle Ranch. He later came to work as an assistant at the Arthur Veterinary Clinic. Dale loved working at the vet clinic, and was a natural with the animals. Following his time at the vet clinic, Dale worked on a wide array of construction projects that took him all over the central United States. Following his retirement, Dale resided in Brule.
Dale was an avid collector of antiques and was also quite sociable. As a result, he could often be found at farm sales, yard sales and auctions, often visiting with old friends and making new ones. Dale also enjoyed fishing, hunting and searching the countryside for artifacts. He was family oriented, and cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren.
Dale was preceded in death by his 2 sisters, Betty Jo Nielson, Sandra Boyce; and a brother, Roger Nielson.
Survivors include his 2 sons, Scott Nielson of Arthur, Von (Jasmin) Nielson of Stromsburg; 2 daughters, Vicki Torres of Lincoln, Janae Viruegas of Texas; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Dean (Patty) Nielson of Ogallala; and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside inurnment services will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Arthur Cemetery at Arthur, NE with Reverend Ben Keen officiating.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala.
