Harry Miller

May 15, 1934 — November 17, 2016

HARRY L. MILLER, 82 of Ogallala, NE, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, NE

Harry was born May 15, 1934 at Gering, Nebraska to Floyd L. and Irene J. (Hawkins) Miller. Harry graduated from Ogallala High School. During the Korean War, Harry was one of many who chose to serve his country as a member of the United States Army.

As a young man, Harry worked as a heavy equipment operator for Paulsen Inc. He worked mostly on I-80 projects, which took him from east to west throughout Nebraska. As time went on, Harry refined his skill set and would eventually move to Colorado where he started his own concrete business, Alligator Construction. He worked in and around the Denver area for many years before returning to Ogallala in the late 1980's. Upon his return to the area, Harry was employed at ASC briefly before a bad fall rendered him unable to work.

Harry had an interest in cars, particularly, old Buicks. He spent a great deal of time tinkering on them and going for drives. He also loved the outdoors and spending time in Colorado. Harry had a magnetic personality and always seemed to be surrounded by people, which he liked, because he was constantly looking for somebody to tease. Harry's life was quite colorful, and uniquely his own.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ernie.

Survivors include his wife, Robyn Miller of Ogallala; his children, Cherie Faile of Federal Heights, CO, Lynn Miller and his wife, Cathy of Brule; step children, Wendy Relerford of Kimball, Taunya Rudloff of Kimball, Jeff Demilt of Virginia Beach, VA, Angie Broeder and her husband, Chris of Ogallala, Dr. Robert Steel of OK, Robin Wolverton of Erie, CO, Tina Roorda of Denver, CO and Terry Roorda of Arvada, CO; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; many step grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; brother, John Miller of FL; sister-in-law, Alta Miller of Ogallala; along with many other relatives and friends.
