Alice C. Anderson

ALICE ANDERSON, 88 of Ogallala, NE, passed away Friday, July 31, 2015 at the Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala.

Alice was born March 13, 1927 at Madrid, NE to Joseph and Anna (Schreiter) Henner. She graduated from Madrid High School, and later, Cosmetology School at Lincoln in 1959.

On September 7, 1949, she married LeRoy Anderson at Dunbar. The couple resided in Dunbar for several years, where Alice owned and operated a beauty shop. Their union was blessed with 2 children, Vic and Jenny. In 1966, the family moved to Ogallala, where they lived the rest of their married lives. Alice had worked for a number of the doctor's offices in Ogallala, all while assisting LeRoy with the operations of the Lazy J Liquor Store, which they owned together for many years.

Alice was an active member of the St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ogallala. Among her enjoyments were camping and metal detecting.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, LeRoy Anderson of Ogallala; son, Vic (Cheryl) of Loveland, CO; daughter, Jenny (Ted) Mashek of Curtis; grandchildren, David, Jim and Lindsey Anderson, Cari Acton and Brian Mashek; 6 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial has been established in her memory. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the service will also be streamed live for those unable to attend.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Luke's Catholic Church with Father Bryan Ernest as Celebrant. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM on Wednesday at the church. Cremation will follow, with inurnment in the Madrid Cemetery to be set at a later date.

Visitation will be on August 4, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home.
