Catherine Amelia (Bricker) Herstedt, age 80 of Paxton, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 at her home.
She was born March 20, 1933 at Sutherland, the daughter of James Morgan and Emma Amelia (Crook) Bricker. She grew up and attended schools in Paxton graduating from the Paxton High School with the Class of 1951.
Catherine attended cosmetology school after having her children with the help of Emma Bricker and Kathryn Herstedt. She married Clark ACorky@ Herstedt on June 2, 1953 at Raton, NM. Catherine operated Cathy=s Beauty Shoppe from her home for over 40 years. In her later years she became active with her grandchildren and church activities until she became home bound due to ill health. She was a member of the New Hope Church.

Grandson, Kenneth Clark AKC@ Gillett and fiancé Crystal Townley of Billings, MT
Her son, Rosser Clark Herstedt of Alliance, NE
Grandson, Alex Herstedt and wife Kaitlyn and a great granddaughter Jillian of North Platte, NE
Grandson, Luke Herstedt of Alliance recently home from serving in Iraq.
One brother, George Bricker and wife Dorothy.
Numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark “Corky” Herstedt; infant daughter Heidi Jo Herstedt; sister Jeanette Bridenstein; brothers, James Melvin Bricker, Dean Bricker, Bobby Bricker, Joe Bricker, Keith Bricker and Paul Bricker.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23rd at the New Hope Church in Ogallala with Pastor Eric Wait officiating. Inurnment will be in the Paxton Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the Perkins County Animal Shelter and Vet Clinic, Grant, NE in Catherine's memory. Online condolences may be sent at gubserfuneralhome.com. Gubser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
