Daniel Seiler

May 21, 1947 - November 5, 2021

DANIEL R. SEILER, of Ogallala, passed away November 5, 2021, at the Perkins County Hospital in Grant. Dan was born May 21, 1947, at Grant, Nebraska, to Richard and Ann (Henner) Seiler. He graduated from Arvada High School with the class of 1965. On April 5, 1969, Dan married Carol (Kelso) Harris. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Beverly and Sheila. Dan worked at a machine shop out of high school and eventually partnered in owning the business. He operated the machine shop until 1989 when he and Carol relocated to Lake McConaughy, where he started a seamless gutter business. Dan was also a life member of the local Elks and Moose Lodges in Ogallala. Dan loved to fish, and being out on the water in his fishing boat was like being in a sanctuary to him. He enjoyed hunting as well. Dan always appreciated the simple things in life, like the love of family, good friendships, and the tug of a fish on his line. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, and their spouses, Wilma (Marty) Oase and Linda (Wayne) Estep. Survivors include his wife, Carol of Ogallala; two daughters, Beverly (David) Pneuman of Broomfield, CO, Sheila Haberkon of McCook; four grandchildren, Bridget, Stephanie, Matthew, and Denise; along with other relatives and friends. A memorial has been established in Dan's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the service will be streamed live. Memorial services will be on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 10:30 am at New Hope Church in Ogallala, with Pastor Matt Waitley officiating. Inurnment will be in the Madrid Cemetery at a later date.
