Dave Enfield

DAVE C. ENFIELD, 74 of Grant, passed away May 7, 2020, at his home north of Grant.

Dave was born August 26, 1945, at Bethesda, Maryland, to Lawrence Edgar and Irene Marion (Shaw) Enfield. The family moved to Arthur, Nebraska, where Dave spent his youth, eventually graduating from Arthur High School.

Dave moved to Colorado after high school, where he worked in automotive repair. In 1976, he returned to the area and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad in the bridges and buildings division. Dave retired in the mid-1990s.

Dave married Barb Biles in the fall of 2000 at a park in Deadwood, SD. The couple made home north of Grant, where they lived their entire married lives.

Dave enjoyed fishing, carpentry, and cars. One of his favorite vehicles to have owned was a yellow 1976 Corvette Stingray, which is now in the care of his son-in-law. Dave was witty & unceasingly ornery. He always had a joke, comeback, or mischievous smirk on his face. Dave loved spending time with friends and family over a cold drink and a good, yet sometimes inaccurate story. His presence and easy smile will be missed by family and friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Barb of Grant; daughter, Candi (Chad) Miller of North Platte; grandchildren, Cody & Cadi of North Platte; Daphne Sutton of North Platte; Teagen Lovelace and Seth Lovelace.

A memorial has been established in Dave's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020, at 10:00am at the Arthur Cemetery with Pastor JA Welsh officiating.
