She was born December 24, 1929, at Oakwood, TX. The daughter of Trinidad and Ester (Arellano) Diaz. The Diaz family came from TX to the Julesburg, CO area where Delia attended elementary school. The family then moved to a farm southeast of Brule. She graduated from Brule High School in 1949.

The Diaz family purchased a farm southwest of Big Springs where Delia helped with the family farm. On November 8, 1951, she married Frank Jimenez. On January 15, 1952 (2 months and 7 days), after their marriage, Frank unexpectedly was drafted into the army. While he was away, Delia lived with her brother and wife until Oct. 14, 1953, when Frank was released from active military duty.

In 1954 they also ended up farming southwest of Big Springs near her parent's farm. Over the years, Delia gave birth to four daughters and three sons. She worked very hard with all the housework, cooking, laundry, cleaning, and caring for the children while Frank attended to the farming. Her hobbies were growing flowers, quilting, reading, and listening to old-time records.

She was preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Salvador Diaz and James Diaz; four sisters, Elvira Diaz, Bertha Hernandez, Josephine Blea, and Dora Jimenez.

Survivors include her husband Frank; daughters, Lydia Jimenez, Linda (James) Vath; son, Frank Jr (Rachel) Jimenez; daughter, Barbara (Lauren) Epp; sons, Jimmy (Lupe) Jimenez, Luke Jimenez and daughter Debby Lacy; brother, Rene (Simona) Diaz, along with twenty grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many other relatives and friends.
