GARY "BARKS" W. BARKLEY, 72 of Brule, NE, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015 at his home in Brule.
He was born October 9, 1942 at Watertown, NY to Wesley and Marion (Hawley) Barkley. He attended school in the Watertown area.
On July 8, 1989 he married Mary O'Gorman at Las Vegas, NV. The couple later moved to Brule, NE.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; son, Patrick; 3 brothers-in-law, Joe Phelps, Hobe Burch, & Bobby Stone.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Barkley of Brule; 7 children, Rona (Tim) Ashland of Lafargville, NY, Tina Mora of Castorland, NY, Paul (Sally) Barkley of Lafargville, NY, Elizabeth (Bobby) Evans of Fort Smith, AR, Christine (Carl) Knipe of Casper, WY, Cathleen Adams of Casper, WY, & JR (Cintia) Nelson of Johnstown, CO; 24 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren (with 2 more on the way); 3 sisters, Nilah Eastep of Destin, FL, Jan Burch of Marathon, FL, & Sue Phelps of Lake Havasue, AZ; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorials are suggested to The Gift of Hope Foundation.
Memorial services will be held in both Wyoming and New York at a later date.
Prairie Hills Funeral Home of Ogallala is in charge of arrangements.
