Gerald Greeley

Gerald Greeley, age 67 of Brule, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at his home. Memorial graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26th at the Brule Cemetery with Pastor Eric Wait of the New Hope Church officiating.

Gerald was born February 10, 1945 at Wauneta, Nebraska, the son of Paul Cecil and Lorene Pearl (Lewis) Greeley. He attended grade school at Lamar and graduated from the Venango High School. Gerald received his certification in law enforcement from the NE Law Enforcement Training Center in Grand Island. He had served on the Keith County and Thayer County Sheriff’s Departments and the Randolph and Overton Police Departments. In 1983 he received an outstanding commendation award from the NE Police Hall of Fame. After his retirement from law enforcement Gerald worked part time doing construction from his home in Brule.

Survivors include his wife, Anita of Brule; two sons, Dustin and wife Michelle Greeley of Kearney and Ryan Greeley of North Platte; a granddaughter, Tehnlea of Kearney; and one sister, Bev and husband Ron Hornbacher of North Platte. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Clara Lehl.

Memorials may be given to the Brule Volunteer Fire Department or the Donor’s Choice in memory of Gerald. Online condolences may be sent at gubserfuneralhome.com. Gubser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
