Mary Ann Crawford

May 19, 1936 — July 6, 2014

Mary Ann Crawford, age 78 of Ogallala, passed away July 6, 2014 at the Medical Center of the Rockies at Loveland, Colorado.
Mary Ann was born May 19, 1936 at Ogallala, Nebraska to Byon and Una (Crawford) Stedman. She graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1954.
On September 4, 1961, Mary Ann married Donald Crawford at Roscoe, Nebraska. Following their union, they resided in Michigan, California and Colorado, before returning to the Ogallala area in the mid 1960’s. While in Ogallala, Mary Ann worked at the Ogallala Hospital, Indian Hills Manor, the Stagecoach, the Elks lodge and Ogallala Senior Center, to name a few. Not long after Mary Ann lost her husband in 2003, she moved to Sidney to be closer to family. While there, she often volunteered at the local senior center.
Mary Ann had a tireless work ethic, often holding 2 or 3 jobs at one time. Her family was the focal point of her life, and she dedicated herself to their care and well being. Mary Ann was known to be a strong-willed and determined individual, evidenced in part, by her ability to return to school to earn her certification as a licensed practical nurse despite her many responsibilities with work and as a mother. She cherished time with her family. She also enjoyed cooking and baking.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son, Michael; 2 brothers, Gordon and Jack Stedman; 2 sisters, Donna Nelson & Jean Parks; and a daughter-in-law, Hilary Crawford.
Survivors include her 2 sons, Dan (Karen) Crawford of Omaha, Patrick and Brian Crawford, both of Sidney; daughters, Ann (Scott) Schultz and Dee Hudson, all of Wichita Falls, TX; brother, Robert (Sheila) Stedman of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Gaile Stark of Cozad; grandchildren, Amy Thomas, Megan Crawford, Sara Crawford, Andrew Bohac, Kayla Nelson, Heather Crawford, James Crawford, Bryce Crawford, Aaron Crawford; great grandchildren, Bailey Lemcke and Renesmae Boekhout; along with many other relatives and friends.
