Nicole M. Maxwell

Nicole Maxwell, age 35 of Ogallala, former resident of Ft. Collins, CO, passed away April 2, 2014 at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.
Nicole was born October 10, 1978 at Juarez, Mexico, and was adopted by David and Sherry (Mathis) Buttermore. She grew up in Ft. Collins, where she attended Rocky Mountain High School.
Following her schooling, Nicole worked at a local Head Start program as a para educator. On July 19, 1997, she married Eric Leif Maxwell at Ft. Collins, where they made their home. Eric passed away in 2003. In April of 2013, Nicole moved to Ogallala to be closer to her family. While residing in Ogallala, she worked primarily in food service. Nicole was part of the team at McDonalds at the time of her passing.
Nicole was family oriented. Her most cherished moments were spent with her family, often at the lake. Nicole also enjoyed motor sports, and listening to music.
In addition to her husband, Nicole was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Benjamin (Wanda) Mathis and Ken (Cecelia) Buttermore; 3 uncles, Benjamin Mathis, Jr., William Buttermore and Ken Buttermore.
Nicole is survived by her daughter, Alyssa Marie Rivas-Buttermore of Ogallala; son, Richard Lee Maxwell, III of Ft. Collins, CO; grandchild, Surena Rivas of Ogallala; parents, David (Sherry) Buttermore of Lemoyne; 2 brothers, Brent Buttermore of Loveland, CO, John Paul (Katie) Buttermore of Ft. Collins, CO; niece, Savannah Buttermore of Loveland, CO; nephew, Reed Buttermore of Ft. Collins, CO; special cousin, Lesa Buttermore of Ft. Collins, CO; along with many other relatives and friends.
