Stephen Jimenez

August 4, 1968 — February 7, 2022

Stephen Jimenez, 53, of Lincoln, passed away February 7, 2022, at Bryan Medical Center East.

Stephen was born on August 4, 1968, to Pete and Fanny (Ortega) Jimenez. He graduated from Brule High School with the class of 1986.

Following his education, Stephen eventually made his way to Cadiz, Kentucky, where he had partnered in a restaurant for a time. It was here that Stephen met his future bride, Beverly Jones.

On August 31, 2001, Stephen married Beverly at Lincoln. The couple made their home in Hickman, NE, for a brief time before moving to Lincoln, where Stephen partnered with his brother to open La Paloma Mexican Restaurante in Lincoln.

Stephen was an avid outdoorsman, and when he wasn't working, he preferred to be in the woods hunting. As he was a gifted cook, he took great pride in the way he could prepare the wild game that he brought home.

Stephen treated people with great kindness, from his family to his extended family at La Paloma, to his little dogs. His memory will be cherished and remembered for many things, especially the way he loved others.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Fanny Jimenez, and his parents-in-law, Clay A. and Nancy Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Jimenez of Lincoln; siblings, Pete (Marie) Jimenez of Clarksville, TN, Tim (Barb) Jimenez of Ogallala, Dora (Adam) Jara of San Angelo, TX, Emerald (Tim) Lauts of Atchison, KS, Art Jimenez of Lincoln, Margie Schilz of Ogallala, Frances (Mike) Legler of Columbus, Arnold (Molly) Jimenez of Albany, OR, Leonard Jimenez of Lincoln; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
