Terry Elmshauser

March 8, 1949 — October 31, 2012

Terry Elmshauser, age 63 of Ogallala, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3rd at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor John Stubenrouch officiating. Inurnment will be in the Ogallala Cemetery.

Terry was born March 8, 1949 at Ogallala, the son of Leslie and Wilma (Booze) Elmshauser. He attended District 7 School southeast of Ogallala through the eighth grade then attended the Ogallala High School, graduating in 1967. He spent most of his life working on the family farm until moving into Ogallala in 2006.

Terry was a huge sports fan. He especially enjoyed the Ogallala Indians, the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Denver Broncos. His true sports love was baseball. He loved going to concerts and movies and enjoyed visiting with friends at the Keith County Senior Center, Moose Lodge and with his neighbors. He was a blood donor and enjoyed volunteering for various local organizations, especially the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes fundraiser for SCIP. Terry was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he was currently serving as an Elder and was a former Trustee and enjoyed singing in the choir.

He is survived by sisters, Kay Miller of Lincoln, NE, Marla (Keith) Scheer of Lincoln, NE and Tammy (Terry) Sutton of Thornton, CO; brothers, Todd (Becky) Elmshauser of Ogallala and Wiley (Krystal) Elmshauser of Sidney, NE; brother in law, Ernie (Bonnie) Husmann of Chappell, NE, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sandy Husmann and Cheryl Tickle; brother in law, Pal Miller; niece, Tina Miller and nephews, Brent and Brett Husmann.
