Timothy Julio Dovel

Timothy Julio Dovel, age 18 of Ogallala, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at North Platte as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
Timothy was born January 23, 1996 at Lancaster, Texas to Timothy C. and Ana Lucia (Moreno) Dovel. Timothy and his family made their home in Texas for most of his life, where he attended Azle High School, before moving to Ogallala in 2010. Timothy attended Ogallala High School for his junior year, but maintained a strong desire to return to Azle to graduate with his old classmates. He was set to graduate from high school in May of this year.
Timothy was a very kind and respectful young man. He was generally reserved, but often wore a smile around family and friends. Timothy had plans of serving in the Army National Guard after graduation. While he was in Texas, he developed a close relationship with the family that hosted his stay. The Jimenez family became very dear to him, and he came to view them like family.
Like many teenagers, Timothy enjoyed hanging out with his friends. He liked to play video games and listening to his music loud. He also took a special interest in outfitting his pickup with the latest and greatest audio equipment.
Timothy was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Dorothy E. Dovel.
Survivors include his parents, Timothy & Ana Lucia Dovel of Ogallala; 3 sisters, Tiffany Dovel of Texas, Niki Dovel of New York and Marie Dovel of Texas; maternal grandparents, Cesar Julio and Nelly Moreno of Fusagasuga, Colombia, South America; his guardian family of Texas, Natalie (Mike) Jimenez and their children, Drake & Haley of Azle, TX; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 2 p.m. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Ogallala with Father Bryan Ernest as celebrant. Visitation for memorial book signatures will be held on Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala. A Christian Wake Service will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Ogallala.
A private family inurnment will be held at Azle, Texas at a later date.
