William "Bill" Musick

November 5, 1947 — February 3, 2015

WILLIAM "BILL" MUSICK, 67 of Ogallala, NE, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala.

William Ray Musick was born November 5, 1947 in Grant, Nebraska at the Perkins County Hospital. The son of Earnest and Hazel (Fisher) Musick. He attended a one room country school and then Grant Public School, graduating from Perkins County High School in 1967. At an early age Bill learned the value of hard work, he enjoyed helping Dan and Harold Gengenbach whether it be farming or rounding up cattle. He could always be found in the corrals with either the horses or the cattle.

After graduating from high school he attended a truck driving school in Texas. He was drafted into the Marines in 1968 and served in Vietnam. Upon being honorably discharged from the service, he went to work for Archer Transfer in Ogallala, Nebraska. He continued trucking until October, 2014 when his health failed due to a diagnosis of leukemia.

He was married to Laura (Stinnette) Burns on July 20, 1978 at the Methodist Church in Grant, Nebraska. With this union Bill's life was blessed with Laura's two sons: Robert and Lonnie. The family continued to live in Ogallala, Nebraska where Bill always enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Bill always had a quick wit to him and was never at a loss to share words of wisdom. He was always entertaining with his stories of hauling cattle and the people he met. Mornings would find him sharing his coffee with his friends and catching up on the latest news. Even though he loved the sale barn and hauling cattle, he was always eager to help with the wheat harvest in the summer which he had done for many years.

We grieve that our husband, dad, and brother has left us behind but Rejoice that he is in his Heavenly and Eternal Home and know that we will all be together again.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; father-in-law Les Stinnette.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Laura of Ogallala; two sons Robert of Stapleton and Lonnie of Ogallala; three grandsons Rusty and Rylan of Ogallala, Connor of Thedford; one brother Randy Musick and his wife Angela of Grant, Nebraska; one sister Rhonda Kogl and her husband John of Holdrege, Nebraska; mother-in-law Eithel Stinnette of Ogallala, Nebraska; two brothers-in-law Jack Stinnette and his wife Christy of Imperial, Nebraska; Andy Stinnette of Lincoln, Nebraska and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
