Lorraine Clouse

Lorraine Clouse, 89, of Ogallala, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023, at the Ogallala Community Hospital.

She was born December 6, 1933, in Cedar Ridge, CO, to Frank and Pearl (Moore) Jordan. Lorraine had made her home in Ogallala NE. She graduated from Perkins County High School with the class of 1951.

On June 1, 1954, Lorraine married Norman Clouse at the Methodist Church in Grant. Their union was blessed with three children, Mike, Jamie, and Sheila.

Lorraine's dedication to her community was evident through her service as a past Chamber President and longtime involvement in the fabric of the downtown retail district. She loved to play golf and even managed the Oakley Country Club in Oakley Kansas for a couple of years. Lorraine loved to entertain and host parties at their home making sure everyone was well fed and had at least one "Toddy". In more quiet moments, Lorraine enjoyed playing cards, especially Bridge.

Lorraine was classy and always seemed to embody elegance and grace. She worked hard at all she did and was a wonderful companion to her husband, Norman.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her son, Mike; parents; sisters, Hester Lomme, Lois Lamb, Helen Real; brothers, Charles Gamble, Donald Jordan.

She is survived by her husband, Norman of Ogallala; children, Jamie Clouse of Ogallala; Sheila Clouse of Sterling, CO; grandchildren, Camille (Jason) Santomaso of Sterling, CO, Wes (Heather) Worley of Ogallala, Michaela (Rico) Rosales of Ogallala, Matthew (Shiyanne) Clouse of Denver, CO. 7 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Hunter, and Adyson Santomaso; Ariana, Lincoln, Vega Worley and Rhowann Rosales; siblings, George (Sadie) Jordan of Winnsboro, TX, and Vivian Roberts of Sacramento, CA; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Lorraine's memory for The Ogallala Fire Department. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the services will be streamed live.

Memorial services will be on Monday, August 21, 2023, at 11 am at New Hope Church in Ogallala. A private inurnment will be in the Ogallala Cemetery at a later date.
