Connie Cook

Connie R. Cook, 83, of Ogallala, passed away on April 26, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

Connie was born July 19, 1942, at Ogallala, Nebraska, to Harvey and Mildred (Walkenhorst) Ahlmeyer. She graduated from Ogallala High School with the class of 1960.

On March 31, 1962, Connie married Dean Cook in Tucson, Arizona. The couple made their home in Ogallala, where they farmed.

Connie was a dedicated wife, mother, and a steady loving presence in the lives of those who loved her. Connie kept up with the farm's busy pace along with sewing countless articles of clothing for her children.

She also spent time cleaning homes, offering not just her hard work but her kindness and care helping others. She enjoyed quilting and was an excellent cook. Connie always took great pride in her yard and treasured time spent with her family.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Dean; her parents; and a sister, Betty Armknecht.

She is survived by her loving family, including her sons, Mike (Lisa) Cook of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Todd (Deb) Cook of Lincoln; daughter, Kim Freed of Reno, Nevada; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
