Correne McEntee

CORRENE McENTEE, age 77, formerly of Ogallala, passed away on August 20, 2023, in Grant.

Born on September 14, 1945, in Saint Paul, Nebraska, to Dale Warren and Glennys Kay (Sites) Boring, Correne graduated from Ogallala High School with the class of 1963.

In May of 1963, Correne married Dennis "Corky" McEntee. The couple made their home in Ogallala, and their union was blessed with four children.

Correne worked at ASC, and her career spanned over 40 years. After Correne took advantage of early retirement, her desire to stay busy ultimately spilled into working for the City of Ogallala as a Tripper driver. In the most recent years, she went back and forth between Grant and Akron, Colorado, balancing time with family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Boring; mother and stepfather, Glennys and Kenny Maddox; husband, Dennis "Corky" McEntee; son, Robert McEntee; and sisters, Wyvonna Lasley, Dixie and her husband Mel Patterson; and nephews, James and Rodney Boring.

Survivors include her children: Glenna and husband Larry Hill of Akron, Colorado; Brenda and her husband Steve Condon of Grant; Brent McEntee of Ogallala; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; siblings, Audry (Don) Dethefs, Lonnie (Cheryl) Boring, and Warren (Jo) Boring.

A memorial has been established in Correne's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the services will be streamed live.

Services will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 10 AM at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home chapel in Ogallala, with Pastor Russ Gaar officiating.
