Dean Cook, 83, of Ogallala passed away on January 17, 2021, at the Ogallala Community Hospital.
Dean was born March 11, 1937, at Ogallala, Nebraska to Roy and Nelda (Armstrong) Cook. As a young man, Dean enjoyed playing football, basketball, baseball, and running track. He graduated from Ogallala High School with the class of 1955. He continued his studies at the University of Nebraska before graduating from the University of Arizona with a degree in Soil Conservation, and subsequently served in the US Navy for four years.
On March 31, 1962, Dean married Connie (Ahlmeyer) at Tucson, AZ. The couple made their home in Ogallala where Dean farmed until his retirement ten years ago.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Connie of Ogallala; sons, Mike (Lisa) Cook of Las Vegas, NV, Todd (Deb) Cook of Norfolk; daughter, Kim (Steve) Freed of Reno, NV; along with six grandchildren.
