Dianne Annable

Dianne Lorraine Annable, 77, of Ogallala, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at her home July 10, 2026.

Dianne was born on December 3, 1948, in Broken Bow, Nebraska, to Douglas Larrie Patterson and Evelyn Faye (Price) Patterson. As one of eight siblings, family was an important part of her life from an early age, laying the foundation for the love and devotion she would later share with her own family.

After graduating from high school, Dianne attended McCook Beauty Academy and earned her cosmetology license. She enjoyed connecting with people and had a natural gift for making others feel comfortable and cared for.

On September 16, 1967, Dianne married the love of her life, John Annable, at Berean Fundamental Church in Ogallala. Together they shared nearly 59 years of marriage, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to one another while raising their three children, Heidi, Torrey, and Timothy.

Dianne and John began their married life on the Annable family farm southwest of Ogallala, where they spent many happy years together. In 1985, they briefly relocated to Bridgeport before moving to Johnston, Iowa, in 1986. There, Dianne worked at Sun Drug Pharmacy, where she managed the Hallmark department and gift shop. Most of the family returned to Nebraska in 1992, making their home in Cambridge before settling back in Ogallala in 1993. Dianne worked for US Apron for several years and as she got closer to retirement, she became a familiar face at the Keith County Senior Center, where she enjoyed making meals in the kitchen, serving others, and forming lasting friendships.

Dianne will be remembered for her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, and unwavering faith that guided her throughout her life. Family meant everything to her, and her greatest joy was the time she spent with those she loved. She also found joy in the simple moments-playing card games and Chinese Checkers with family and friends, watching movies, and making treasured trips to the mountains of Colorado. She never passed up an opportunity to enjoy Mexican food and a margarita, especially when surrounded by the people she loved. With a kind heart and welcoming spirit, Dianne had a remarkable gift for making others feel like family, and she truly was a friend to everyone she met.

Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Doug and Evelyn Patterson; her grandparents, Thomas and Florence Price; in-laws, Sam and Earla Mae Jimenez; and siblings-in-law, Peggy Huffman, Myra Annable, Velida Annable and Jim Sizer.

She is survived by her husband, John; her children, Heidi (Chris) Bertrand of Grimes, Iowa, Torrey Annable of Waukee, Iowa, and Tim Annable of Ogallala; five grandchildren: Callen and Cade Bertrand, Lucas and Lindy Annable, Jayden (Bridgette) Annable and one great-grandchild, Mallory; her siblings, Larrie (Patricia) Patterson of Lincoln, Karen (Lowell) Jacobsen of Scottsbluff, Lucretia Johnson (Alvin Pankonin) of Grant, Nancy (Joel) Miller of Sun Lakes, Arizona, Tom Patterson of Temple, Texas, Trudy Patterson (Kathleen Katra) of Mableton, Georgia, and Laurie Geier of Friendsville, Tennessee; her siblings-in-law, Terry Annable of Ogallala, Craig Annable of Tucson, Arizona, Kathy (Henry) Vedder of Ogallala, Richard Huffman of Grand Island; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and so many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Keith County Senior Center, with Chaplain Robin Storer officiating.
