Donna Kugler Martin, age 82 of Ogallala, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Golden Ours Convalescent Home in Grant.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 16th at the United Church of Christ, First Congregational Church with Pastor Lauran Heidenreich officiating. Committal services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. (CDT) at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery south of Maxwell.
Donna was born June 14, 1930 at Maywood, Nebraska the daughter of Clare and LaVada (White) Shirley. Donna was employed as a bookkeeper at Bullock’s Chevrolet in Grant, Bystrom Auto Parts in North Platte and at Nye Furniture and Haggard Well Drilling in Ogallala. Her hobbies included gardening, activities with her grandchildren, Nebraska Football and Volleyball, baking, canning and camping. She was a member of the United Church of Christ, First Congregational Church, the Women’s Fellowship and volunteered at the Jumble Shop and assisted in delivering Meals on Wheels. She also belonged to the 40 & 8 La Femmes, the Mrs. Jaycees and the XYZ Extension Club.
Survivors include two sons, Donald (Becky) Kugler of Gering, NE and Ronald (Michele) Kugler of Ogallala; one daughter, Mary (Terry) Kauk of Alma, NE; three sisters, Devona Allen of Grant, Lucille Long of Grant, and Norma Jean (Tom) Summers of Fallbrook, CA; two brothers, Lolen Shirley of Grant and Gordon (Olivia) Shirley of Tustin, CA; two sisters in law, Doris Kugler of Broomfield, CO and Alice Mae Kugler of Cross Timbers, MO; brother in law, George Kugler of Springfield, MO; six grandchildren,
Jacob (Cassandra) Kugler, Jennifer ( Travis) Schmidt, David Kugler, Beth Kugler, Nicole Kauk and Dillon Kauk; great grandchildren, Maverick Kugler, Lexus Kugler, Dylan Kugler, Bradley Schmidt and Logan Schmidt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clare and LaVada Shirley; mother and father in law, Henry and Nannie Kugler; her husbands, Albert Kugler and Ray Martin; brothers in law, Charles Brown, Kenneth Long, Lafayette Kugler, William Kugler, Henry Kugler, Jack Allen, Alvin Kugler and Jack Kugler; sister in laws, Mary Alice Jenkins, Betty Shirley, Vivian Kugler and Patricia Kugler.
