Donnie E. Theiler

DONALD E. THEILER, 79, of Paxton, left this world peacefully on April 15, 2022.

Donnie was born July 30, 1942, to Edward and Esther (Lehl) Theiler. He graduated from Paxton High School with the class of 1960.

On September 3, 1966, Donnie married Carolyn Krajewski at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ogallala. Their union was blessed with three children, Dana, Todd, and Chris.

Donnie lived all his life in Paxton, doing what he liked best, farming, until 1996, when a stroke ended his career.

Donnie enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his youth, he had served in the Army National Guard. Donnie was a longtime parishioner of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Paxton, where he had served on the Church Council and was a Eucharistic minister.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Kathryn Ann Peterson; and a brother-in-law, Bernie Krajewski.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn of Paxton; children, Dana (Dan) Vorthmann of Treynor, IA, Todd Theiler of Glenwood, MN, Chris (Kris Ash) of Paxton; grandchildren, Devin Tyler Vorthmann; two-step granddaughters, Vanessa (Daniel) Malm and Morgan (Josh) Lammert; five great-grandchildren, Teegan, Asher, & Bode Lammert, and Juniper & Raulin Malm; sister, Jeanette Krajewski of Grand Island; sister-in-law, Mary Olson of Paxton; brothers-in-law, Jim Krajewski, and Bill Peterson; along with several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Paxton Volunteer Fire Department. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the services will be streamed live.

Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Paxton, with Fr. Bryan Ernest as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Paxton Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Monday, April 18, 2022, from 5:00-6:00 pm at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Paxton, with the Rosary being recited at 6:00 pm.
