Florence Marie Bacon

Florence Marie (Fiscus) Bacon, 74, of Lemoyne, passed away November 15, 2023, at the Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala.

Florence was born August 15, 1949, at Alliance, Nebraska, to Bill and Opal (Cogill) Fiscus. She attended school at Hyannis before graduating from Oshkosh High School.

Florence met Flloyd Bacon at a dance in Arthur while she was helping cook for Myers Land and Cattle at the Triangle Ranch. The two were married on October 12, 1968, and the couple welcomed a daughter, Cheryl Lynn, on June 21, 1971.

Florence was a dedicated housewife and mother, following Floyd from ranch to ranch over the years.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Opal Fiscus, and a brother-in-law, Dean Bacon.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Floyd Bacon of Lemoyne; daughter, Cheryl Bacon of Ogallala; grandchildren, Christy (Kris) Schnabel and Dalton Dolezal, both of Ogallala; brothers, Miles (Jeanne) Fiscus, Roy (Marylas) Fiscus, Will (Dawn) Fiscus; sister-in-law, Betty Herndon; brothers-in-law, Robert Bacon and Gary Bacon; along with many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Floyd Bacon, 13 Sandy Beach, Lemoyne, NE 69146. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 1 pm at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home Chapel in Ogallala, with Fr Bryan Ernest officiating. No interment of cremains is planned.
