Harold Eugene Hood, 92, of Big Springs, Nebraska, passed away September 24, 2026, in Loveland, Colorado.

Harold was born October 20, 1933, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Harold C. and Barbara (Nelson) Hood.

Harold was a Korean and Vietnam veteran, having served faithfully in the US Army for 20 years. He went on to obtain his Master Gardener degree and brought that knowledge and care to all his work. For 17 years, Harold was the groundskeeper for the Big Springs Cemetery. Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; his parents, Harold C. and Barbara (Nelson) Hood; his brother, William Hood; sisters Ruth Meyers and Helen Mak; son Dwight D. Hood; and grandchildren Dwight D. Hood II and Amanda Hood.

Hood of Alabama; daughter Starlette Connelly and son-in-law Don Connelly of Big Springs; granddaughters Sarah Baker of Tennessee and Shannon Hood of Alabama; great-grandchildren Marcina Baker, Allison Sherman, Shandi Bryant; and numerous extended family members and friends. He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him and missed terribly.
