JERRY L. QUICK, 76 of Keystone, NE, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Ogallala Community Hospital.
Jerry was born August 27, 1939 at Portland, Oregon to William and Anna (Lane) Quick. He attended country school in the Arthur, NE area before graduating from Ogallala High School with the class of 1957.
On November 28, 1959, Jerry married Norma Karre at Denver, CO. The couple made their home in Ogallala, and their union was blessed with 3 children. Jerry and Norma founded Quick Electric in 1967 and continued to operate the business for nearly 40 years. In 2000 the couple built a home near Lake McConaughy, where they had resided since that time.
Jerry enjoyed car shows, ice boating, driving his 1932 Ford Model A truck on the sand. Before they moved to the lake, Jerry camped there nearly every weekend without exception.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Norma in November of 2014; son, Mark; sister, Anita Zazvorka.
Survivors include his two daughters: Brenda (Scott) Griffith of Keystone and Synthia (Patrick) Stanosheck of Lincoln; 11 grandchildren: Aaron Quick, Mark Griffith, John Griffith, Chloe Griffith, Jolie Griffith, Hallelujah Griffith, Judah Griffith, Joe Stanosheck, Jared Stanosheck, Zach Stanosheck, and Elisa (Brad) Znamenacek; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Ray (Joan) Quick of Cañon City, CO, Melvin (Dorothy) Quick of Sheridan, WY; 1 sister-in-law; 7 brothers-in-law; along with many other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in Jerry’s memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com where the service will be streamed live for those unable to attend.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 10:00 AM at New Hope Church with Pastor Bill Forbes officiating. No interment of cremains is planned at this time.
