LEROY "ANDY" ANDERSON, 93, of Curtis, NE, formerly of Ogallala, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022, at Curtis, NE.
LeRoy was born August 31, 1928, at Dunbar, Nebraska, to Arthur and Rochelle (Casey) Anderson. He graduated from Dunbar High School.
On September 7, 1949, LeRoy married Alice Henner at Dunbar. The couple resided in Dunbar for several years, where LeRoy worked as an auto mechanic. Their union was blessed with two children, Vic and Jenny.
In 1966, the family moved to Ogallala, where they lived the rest of their married lives. LeRoy had worked as an automotive service manager for a number of years before going to work for Ogallala Electronics. He and Alice would eventually open the Lazy J Liquor Store, which they operated together for many years.
LeRoy loved to tinker in his woodshop and greatly enjoyed metal detecting and camping. He was a hard worker and greatly appreciated the simple things in life. He was also a member of Good Sam's Club.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Alice.
Survivors include his son, Vic (Cheryl) of Loveland, CO; daughter, Jenny (Ted) Mashek of Curtis; grandchildren, David, Jim, and Lindsey Anderson, Cari Acton, and Brian Mashek; 7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial has been established in LeRoy's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, from 4 pm until 6:30 pm at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala. A private family inurnment will be held in the Madrid Cemetery at a later date.
