LUKE HAUK, 54, of Lake McConaughy, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022, at the Perkins County Hospital in Grant.
Luke was born in 1967, at Peoria, IL, to Delmar and Judith (Nielsen) Hauk.
Luke worked in plastic mold injection plants for several years in the Denver area, where he eventually met Christine. The two were married on April 9, 1994, at Englewood, CO, and their union was blessed with five children, Matt, Scott, David, Mary, and Beth. Luke worked in maintenance and remodeling for a number of years. The family moved to Ogallala in 2005 to be closer to Luke's parents.
Luke was a hard-working and faithful man, devoted to God and his family. He leaned heavily on his Catholic faith and fostered a deep devotion to the Rosary, which he joyfully promulgated whenever he got the chance.
Luke was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law, Milan Thompson.
Survivors include his wife, Christine of Lake McConaughy; their children, Matt, Scott, David, Mary, and Beth; his mother, Judith Jane Hauk of Oshkosh; siblings, Lynn (Charles) Howard of North Carolina, Lori Thompson of Lakewood, CO, Lisa Hauk of Oshkosh.
A memorial has been established in Luke's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the Mass will be streamed live.
Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 10 am at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ogallala, with Fr. Bryan Ernest as Celebrant. Inurnment will be in the Oshkosh Cemetery at 1:00 pm on Wednesday.
The Rosary will be recited thirty minutes prior to Mass time on Wednesday at the church.
