MARLENE E. LARSON, 70 of Ogallala, former Brule resident, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Ogallala Community Hospital.
Marlene was born December 11, 1945 at Ogallala, Nebraska to Avon and Orva (Kampfe) Larson. Marlene attended school in Brule.
Marlene attended a vocational school in Beatrice before returning to Brule. She worked at the Indian Hills Manor handling laundry for over 20 years. Marlene always enjoyed helping care for her young niece and nephews when she got the chance. She also enjoyed word searches, jigsaw puzzles, Husker athletics and collecting dolls from other countries.
She was a longtime member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Brule and was active in the LWML.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her brothers, Dennis (Barbara) Larson of Jacksonville, FL, Darrell (Pat) Larson of Centennial, CO; her niece and nephews, Dennis, Jr., Christopher, Eric, Lori and Brandon; great niece and nephew, Ava and Evan; aunt and uncle Harold (Beatrice) Kampfe of Brule; step-aunt, Carol Campbell of Boulder City, NV; along with many other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in Marlene's memory at St. John's Lutheran Church in Brule. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the services will be streamed live for those unable to attend.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Brule with Pastor John Dickmander officiating. Burial will be in the Brule Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home.
