Michael George Falciglia

November 29, 1952 — January 6, 2024

Michael G. Falciglia, aged 71, of Ogallala, Nebraska, passed away on January 6, 2024, in Ogallala. Born on November 29, 1952, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Louise (Strasburger) Falciglia.

Michael's early education was completed at Abington Heights High School in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. After graduation, he served in the United States Marine Corps in Okinawa, South Carolina (Parris Island), North Carolina (Camp Lejeune), and Camp Pendleton in California.

Following his military service, Michael ventured into the construction industry, where he became a highly skilled bricklayer. His craftsmanship was honed under the guidance of two experienced brothers in the trade, and he spent significant time working in Baltimore. His journey in construction eventually led him to California and later to Ogallala, Nebraska, where he built log cabins.

Michael was a man of many interests and talents. He had a natural affinity for both humor and the simple things in life. An avid traveler, he had the remarkable achievement of exploring 48 of the 50 states, with memorable journeys that included an almost completed trip to Alaska (which would have been his 49th). His love for mountains, hiking, and living off the land was well-known among his friends and family. He also had a proclivity for scary movies. A motorcycle enthusiast, Michael cherished the freedom and thrill that came with riding.

Michael was well-read and knowledgeable, absorbing information from the world around him with keen interest. His ability to engage in thoughtful conversations on a host of subjects was a testament to his brightness.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, JoAnne C. Maloney; his parents, Joseph and Louise Falciglia; his brother, Joseph Falciglia Jr.; sister-in-law, Virginia Falciglia; and brother-in-law, Bill Beck.

Survivors include his siblings, John Falciglia of Florida, Ann Marie (Richard) Falciglia-Genova of Clarks Summit, PA, Louann Falciglia (Bob Holleran) of Dunmore, PA, Marge (Adam) Falciglia Beck of Milton, PA, and Joan Falciglia Beck of Milton, PA; sister-in-law, Ann Marie Falciglia of Florida; along with his many nieces and nephews.
