RICHARD ALLEN RUTH, 37, of Ogallala, passed away February 24, 2026, at Brule, Nebraska.

Richard was born on April 20, 1988, in Oklahoma. He graduated from Blanchard High School in Oklahoma and later served his country in the United States Army, including service with Heavy Company, 3rd ARC, during a deployment to Iraq from 2007 to 2009.

Following his military service, Richard worked in construction and homebuilding in Oklahoma for several years before relocating to Ogallala. He continued working in construction and was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others.

Richard was the proud father of two sons, Andrew Ruth and Gage Ruth, both of Ogallala. His boys were the center of his world and his greatest pride and joy. He loved taking them fishing at the lake, visiting Windlass Hill, playing Nerf wars, grilling, and simply spending time together. He was known for his sense of humor and his ornery streak, always able to make people laugh.

In recent years, Richard entered AA and NA and was proud of the personal growth and strength he had achieved. He faced life's challenges with determination and continued striving to better himself.

He was preceded in death by his brothers in the Heavy Company, 3rd ARC.

Survivors include his sons, Andrew and Gage Ruth, both of Ogallala; brothers, Roger (Ailee) Parish of Tuttle, Oklahoma and Rodney Parish of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; close friend and supporter, Brian (Elizabeth) Brassfield of Brule; battle buddy, Josh Murphy of Durant, Oklahoma; and many other friends and extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 at the Church of Christ in Ogallala, with Brian Brassfield officiating. No inurnment is planned at this time.
