August 2, 1958 — May 20, 2024

Richard P. White, 65, passed away on May 20, 2024, in Topeka, Kansas.

Richard (better known as Ric) was born Aug. 2, 1958, in McCook, Nebraska, to Richard Dewayne and Velma Fern (Hill) White. He was raised in Maywood, Nebraska, and graduated from Maywood High School. Richard worked various jobs throughout life, including maintenance and handyman roles as well as various roles in the restaurant industry. Most of his adult life was spent in Perkins County and North Platte. Most recently, Richard had been making his home in Topeka.

Richard was a loving and caring individual who deeply valued his relationship with his son, Zac. Recently, he especially loved visiting on the phone with his two-year-old granddaughter, Jaydalee. He enjoyed classic cars, fishing, and wildlife, with one of his favorite spots being Cody Park in North Platte. Richard was a talented musician and could often be found with a guitar strumming a tune. Richard's faith in Jesus was his anchor and stronghold, sustaining him through all the seasons of life. He was baptized in and had many friends at Calvary Baptist Church in North Platte.

He is survived by his son, Zachary (Larissa) White, and granddaughter Jaydalee of Ogallala; Zac's mother, Suzanne McCormick of Ogallala; his brother, Jeff (Carla) Hill of Mountain View, Arkansas, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends made along the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Velma, and his step-father, Ryland Saum.
