Seara K. Hunt

Seara K. Hunt, 23, of Brule, Nebraska, passed away August 9, 2026, at her home in Brule.

Seara was born August 29, 2002, in Atkinson, Nebraska, to Aaron E. and Carrie Lynn (McCready) Hunt. In 2016, the family moved to the Ogallala area to be closer to relatives. Seara graduated from Paxton High School with the class of 2020. She stayed close to home after that, always keeping her people within reach.

Seara always had a goofy sense of humor, sometimes a little inappropriate, but always aimed at making somebody laugh. She was a fighter, and she carried a resilient spirit through more than her share of hard things in life. Above everything else, she was a devoted mother to Mathias, Amaya, and Jarel. Her creative streak ran wide: she enjoyed working with resin, and she was chasing a dream of becoming a tattoo artist. Seara was a gifted cook, too, known for loaded potato soup, bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers, chicken curry, and "hobo soup." She poured her heart into whatever she made.

Seara was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Silver Hunt.

She is survived by her three children, Mathias Elijah Hunt, Amaya Rose Stephens-Hunt, and Jarel Lee Rose Stephens-Hunt; her parents, Aaron and Carrie Hunt of Brule; her siblings, Destiny Hunt of Ogallala, Kyle Hunt of Brule, Madyson Hunt, and Alyssa Hunt; her paternal grandmother, Karen Hunt-Judd; her maternal grandparents, John McCready and Fonda Franklin; nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 21, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at New Hope Church in Ogallala, with Pastor Don Larreau officiating.

Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Thursday at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala.
