William "Will" Wintle Martin, Jr., 79, of Ogallala, passed away May 24, 2026, at his home.
Will was born March 10, 1947, in the Panama Canal Zone, to William W. Martin Sr. and Jacqueline (West) Martin. After faithfully serving his country in the U.S. Air Force, he earned his engineering degree at the University of Colorado.
On April 18, 1971, Will married Connie Lee Foster in Denver, Colorado, and their union was blessed with three daughters. He adored his wife, Connie and was wholeheartedly devoted to her. Will found joy spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Will spent much of his career as a mechanical engineer, and he took genuine satisfaction in mentoring younger engineers over the years. In later years, Will worked as a consultant. In time, he and Connie turned their attention to the antique business, running it together until her passing. Whether he was working on a project, tracking down an antique, or planning the next trip, Will was most himself when he had something to do and someone to do it with. He had a gift for fixing things and a steady willingness to work that never seemed to leave him.
Will was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Connie, his parents, his sister Lyn Martin, and his parents-in-law, Max and Alice Foster.
He is survived by his daughters Hillary Berg (Jason) of Spokane, Washington; Melissa "Mo" Gonda (Mike) of Roswell, Georgia; and Vanessa Yohe (Eric) of Denver, Colorado; his six grandchildren; Jack Berg, Matthew Gonda, Jackie Gonda, Kieran Gonda, Brett Gonda and Alexandra Gonda, siblings Camille Strong of Deatsville, AL and Vivian Martin of Friendswood, TX, and many dear friends.
